I have been interested in photography for quite a few years. When I had my first child I started to go picture crazy. I was trying to capture his entire life on film. I would go to have his "professional picture" taken and I would never be truly happy with the photos. Yes they were pretty, and the subject was adorable (if I do say so myself) yet the photos never seemed to capture my son. I started looking at the photos that I had taken of my son and realized that was what I wanted. I wanted to capture a day in the life of my kids. I wanted to have pictures that will remind me 20 years from now of the emotion that I feel for my family. I decided that if that is what I wanted then others probably did as well.
So that is what I do now. I aim to take pictures that are worth a thousand words. I want to capture the time your kids wrestle with daddy, the ice cream faces, the belly laughs, I want life and emotion in my pictures. I want to create beautiful pictures that are full of life and light. My style is different then the normal, but no family is normal either. My goal in taking photos is to break away from the normal posed picture session and to truly capture the fun, crazy, beautiful moments that make up a day in your life.

Effie, I just got a chance to look through your portfolio. It is awesome! I had no idea you were doing photography as a professional. Good for you! You definitely found your style and a great name to go with it. It is funny that you are the last of six and my sister Shirlee is the last of six and you are both photographers.
